DEVON DRAKES

The devon drakes have been training in plymouth since 2018, and have supplied many fighters to the Isca AFC UK leauge team.

WHAT DOES TRAINING LOOK LIKE?

Our weekly sessions are not done in steel, but with specialist “soft” training kit, using padded swords and helmets.we have our own for you to use, so you dont need any equipment, just to turn up! we will use pads bag and drill to improve striking, wrestling and team work.

PROVE YOUR SELF IN THE ARENA

Once you are ready you will be armed and armoured for your first taste of steel combat. this is done in a friendly club environment to help you step up to the next level and prepare you to take to the arena to fight competitively. The drakes regularly are seen at competitive events, but in the group fights, and 1v1 events.

Barney, Head Coach

A veteran fighter with medals from across Europe and world championships, Barney is well placed to teach aspiring fighters every thing they need to be successful in Buhurt

Jamie, Chapter master and welfare lead

Jamie has been training in Plymouth and competing across the UK for years now, and is responsible for the administrative running of the chapter and making sure we foster a inclusive welcoming atmosphere.

Tim, Vice chapter master

Tim may be a newer fighter but brings a solid background from BJJ and MAA, and helps jamie and barney run sessions and keep the chapter running.
